Science
Our goal is to develop in our
students the skills of inquiry and problem-solving which they can apply in
authentic, every-day situations through experiential learning opportunities.
CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK

PROGRAMMES

By adopting a student – centric approach in our curriculum, instruction and assessment, we strive to develop in our students the 21st Century competencies. Problem-solving skills, inquiry-based learning and ICT tools have been infused into science lessons.
The Science department hopes to instill a sense of environmental awareness among students in Punggol Cove Primary School. To achieve this, several initiatives have been put in place. These include, setting up an Environmental Science Club, having an environmental awareness week and introducing a Clean Plate Project.
The P4 Science@Play serves to bring Science to life, stretching students’ learning in Science and sparking their curiosity about the environment they live in. Through science demonstrations, and experiments, students get to apply Science concepts in a real life context. This includes applications of light energy, magnets as well as adaptations of animals.
