MOTHER TONGUE CULTURAL DAY
||1. Providing opportunities for students to use their MTL in an authentic environment and learn more about the culture of another race.
2. To appreciate and understand the cultures of different races, thus promoting racial harmony.
||5 th May 2016
On this day, children had fun learning about the cultural activities! Pupils taking Chinese had hands-on experience making Bunga Manggar (a traditional Malay decorative item carried to accompany the arrival of important guests, often seen in Malay weddings) and for pupils taking Malay, they experience the art of Chinese Paper Cutting (a decorative item which often symbolises good health and prosperity in the Chinese culture). Feel free to take a look at the wonderful pieces that the children have made!
